Generally , we can divide it into two types: reed switch type and solid state type, named starting with CLS and DLS respectively.
For reed switch type sensor, when the piston's magnet approaches the magnetic sensor,the internal reed switch will detect the change of magnetic field and close the contacts.
For solid state type sensor, when the piston's magnet approaches the magnetic sensor, the internal magneto-resistive element can detect the change of magnetic field and cause a tiny voltage change. Switching output is achieved when this signal is amplified by the operation amplifier circuit in the magnetic sensor.
CLS is reed switch type. (2 wire) DLS is solid state type have 2 wire and 3 wire. For 3 wire have PNP or NPN.DLS have better waterproof, no risk during transportation damage or shake/hit by other items and damage the inside reed parts.CLS has a better price.
Reed switch sensor can work for DC/AC 5-240V, solid state sensor only can work for DC5-30V voltage.
Our sensor have T-slot type, C-slot type, with clamp also can use for the round tube cylinder, flush with the cylinder profile. We also do the customized for different application magnet sensor, especially for the bus door open sensor.
With robot application usually need the metal case with short body and also connect with M8 or M12 quick connector to PLC control.
